What We Do

At Ummah Mental Health (UMH) we are laying the foundation for a national mental health network that strengthens communities at a local level.

Our Year One Roadmap—Laying the Foundation:

We are actively establishing a nationwide network of culturally competent and spiritually aligned mental health professionals and organizations. We are also recruiting passionate volunteers to contribute their time, skills, and expertise, helping us build sustainable programs that provide effective, long-term mental health support for underserved communities.

Our Vision: Expanding Access Through a National Telemedicine Network

We envision a future where mental health care is accessible to all, breaking down barriers of geography and cost. To achieve this, we are launching key initiatives to expand access and amplify impact:

  1. Nationwide Telemedicine Network—Improving Access to Care: We are developing a network of licensed psychiatrists and therapists dedicated to providing no-cost or low-cost clinical care via telemedicine. This initiative eliminates geographical barriers, expands culturally competent care to underserved communities, and offers flexible, stigma-free support to those in need.

  2. Mental Health Consortium—Uniting Forces for Greater Impact: Rather than duplicating existing efforts, UMH serves as a connector, bringing together mental health nonprofits to form a collaborative consortium. This approach strengthens partnerships, identifies critical gaps in care, and fosters a more efficient, unified system of mental health support.

  3. Connecting Care—The UMH Mental Health Resource Directory: We are creating a comprehensive national mental health directory to make it easier for individuals to find the help they need. This centralized platform connects people with trusted services and providers, serves as a trusted hub for culturally competent care, and empowers communities with greater awareness of mental health resources.
